Lee Rowing Club is proud to announce the selection of eight Lee athletes and coach, Dan Buckley, to represent Ireland in July.
The Home International Regatta is being held in the National Rowing Centre on July 21st and will include teams from England, Scotland, and Wales. Congratulations to Aoife Cummins & Jennifer Crowley selected for the women’s sweep team, Marie Kidney & Aoife Lynch selected for the women’s sculling team and Dara Kelly & Andrew Sheehan chosen for the men’s sculling team.
For the first time in 10 years, the European Junior Cup, Coupe de la Jeunesse, will be held at the National Rowing Centre from the 27th to the 29th of July. Teams from 14 countries including France, Spain, Italy and Great Britain will compete.
Congratulations to Thomas Murphy who has been selected to partner David Cosgrave from Shandon Boat Club in the Junior Men’s double scull, and to Lee coach, Dan Buckley, who has been named lead coach for the Junior women’s sculling team.
European Junior Silver medal winner, Margaret Cremen, is to partner Lydia Heaphy from Skibbereen Rowing Club at the Under 23 World Championships being held in Poznan, Poland from July 25rd to 29th.
Congratulations also to Hugh Sutton who rowed for Lee and who is now with UCC on being selected in the lightweight men’s single scull for the U23 World Championships.
